Course Description :

“Students will investigate and report on technical issues as the relate to the development of the comprehensive building project in the parallel Design Studio. Innovation and integration in architectural design will be stressed, with respect to structure, building envelope, environmental systems, health and life safety, movement systems, site planning and the integration of information technology.”

Please note: This site was developed for the Montreal Technical Report course for 2003 and 2004. It is not specific to any current course offerings of Arch 473. Please feel free to make use of whatever links, powerpoints and technical information that I have posted as applies to your 493 project.

Pedagogy:

The purpose of this course and the development of its content is to ensure that your Comprehensive Building Design projects are indeed technically comprehensive. The “freedom” in topics and approach of theses in our new Master of Architecture professional degree lies in the success of this approach to the 4B Design Studio in addressing building design that includes and overtly expresses an interest in the integration of technology.
