The invention, popularization, and cultural assimilation of films over the course of the twentieth century has established cinema as an effective means of studying the realities of contemporary culture. Therefore, cinema provides a compelling cross-section of the evolution of the modern zeitgeist. Through the films studied in this course, this paper considers the influence of evolving socio-economic vectors on the manipulation of reality in cinema.
