Violence and madness compliment each other in
different scenarios. Whether an act of violence
spawns madness within an individual, or the
act of violence itself stemming from madness,
their architecture relies heavily on emotion.
Violence is a natural instinctive
form that exists within the human
race because of personal motive. The use
of physical force whether justifiable or not
presents itself as a form of rebellion, uprising
to more defensive and selfish
emotive distinctions.
Violence's use in movies are essential to
driving the plot of most films and even its
premise of a story. Action sequences, chase
scenes, military scenes all are heavily violent,
and if appropriately filmed, can achieve an
astounding effect to the viewer in terms of
entertainment, or even emotionally touching
moments of despair and struggle
In A Clockwork Orange and
The Dark Knight, violence is a measure to a
life without rules in terms of Alex and the Joker
and how their actions frustrate their victims and drive
them to change mentally their beliefs and actions due
to madness. Brazil and Equilibrium are examples of
government control uses of violence and the struggle
within the individual to understand their emotions and
aspirations to confront and rebel against authority.
