Chaos

Paris in 2054 has a government that is not dissimilar to that of today, including police officers that appear to have no corruption amongst them. What is chaotic, about this city however is that the corporate world has become a political player to the extent that they control information flow, they produce mass propaganda, and they have their own militant forces. Avalon, the corporation based upon the premises of youth, beauty, and eternal life, has become more powerful than the government when it can steal, abduct, and even kill people without apparent repercussions. Using such a political setting for the film is critical to the plot, but more importantly, it adds to the realism of the proposed near future of an existing commercialized democratic society. The most frightening glimpses of madness appear when the possibility for such a world to truly develop, and so with this in mind, the director has made audiences uncomfortable through the film, but also wary of the present. Developing the future of Paris through law enforcement, political structure, technology, and architecture, Renaissance 2054 has successfully created a mad and disturbing potential city.
