Location

Green on the Grand is located in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada approximately 100 km (60 miles) west of Toronto. The building faces southward, with the Grand River to the east. The winters in southwestern Ontario are cold with heavy snowfalls and the summers are hot and humid. Temperatures swing up to 30 degrees from January to June. The average annual precipitation ranges 600-1000 mm (23.6-39.4 inches) and the average annual snowfall ranges from 100-200 cm (39.4-78.7 inches).

The prevailing winds are from the southwest in the winter and from the northwest in the summer. There is an average of 1600-2000 average annual hours of sunshine, and an average growing period of 200-210 days .
