Traditional Animation - Live action/cartooning

Today, live-action animation is used in even more extravagant and believable means, using computer generated graphics to enhance the scene that viewers see. In many cases, the animated elements are rendered in such realistic fashion that it seems to blend into the ‘reality’ of the setting, thus also serving as a means of manipulating reality. Some of the most recent examples being J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek (2009) and James Cameron’s Avatar (2009), in which a combination of computer graphics and computer 3D animation were used to create the effect of humans interacting with fantasy creatures.
