Manipulating Reality:

With such advancement in filmmaking, the viewer is now able to see a work completely controlled and manipulated to the visual liking of the director, and other visionaries of the specific film. The creation of a completely artificial environment allows the director control what is seen by the viewer, so everything that is shown is essential to the development of the plot. This creation of a particular space is done so to the discretion of the director who is able to control the representation of materials in the film which also manipulates and persuades the feelings of the viewer to feel uncomfortable, or uneasy. The director is also able to intensify certain aspects of the film in order to heighten the viewers’ engagement in the underlying plot or themes of the film.
