Spy Lemmy Caution is the protagonist in Alphaville. His mission is to find and destroy Alpha60, a computer that controls the city of Alphaville. On his mission, he becomes involved with Alpha60 creator's daughter, Natasha Von Braun. Natasha is an innocent naive female that becomes enlightened of her past in the Outlands Mr. Caution. Mr. Caution is initially depicted as an ordinary journalist from the Outlands who is covering a story on Alphaville. Although he is disgusted by the execution of people that do not conform to Alpha60, he murders other spies, the creator of Alpha60, and all those that stand in his way. His rough matter-of-fact mannerisms, nonchalant emotions and rugged nature are typical of a classic film noir anti-hero. |
