Alternate Energy On Site
Encouraging the use of on-site energy production, specifically photovoltaics, is something I try to instill early on in the graduate education curriculum. Having the ability to produce power on site, and ultimately generate green power for the surrounding community, is a very achievable goal and should always be considered in the beginning stages of design.
|
Investigative Strategy |
Site should be carefully analyzed and characterized before specific design decisions are made on building orientation, shape and location.
|
Evaluation Process |
Analysis drawing that illustrates the site’s solar geometry, wind patterns, and existing vegetation. |
