The Serres, Paris, France
The Serres in Paris, France, designed by Peter Rice Engineer, was the first building to use a cable support system to provide the structural stability and framework for large expanses of mullionless glazing.
The spring system for the Serres was used to absorb the deflections in the horizontal members so that these forces would not be transferred to the glass. |
